The study also concluded that the renewable energy sector will generate a total value added of around 1.1% of gross domestic product (GDP) in the EU nations. In 2005, the renewable energy sector in the EU employed 1.4 million people with a gross value added of €58 billion (about $81 billion U.S. using June 10 exchange rates), said the report, which noted that biomass, wind, and hydroelectric technologies are currently generating the most substantial employment opportunities in the EU. via Climate Change Business>>
