Walmart to install solar units on stores in Puerto Rico

Sun Supermarket – Wal-Mart Stores, Inc. (Bentonville, AR) and SunEdison (Beltsville, MD) jointly announced that they will deploy solar systems on the rooftops of five Wal-Mart stores in Puerto Rico initially, and will explore additional installations on stores in Puerto Rico over the next five years. Under the terms of the agreement between the two companies, SunEdison will finance, build, own, and operate solar PV energy systems at the following Wal-Mart retail centers: Sam’s Club in Rexville (795 kW); Sam’s Club in Ponce (936.44 kW); the Wal-Mart Super Center in Ponce (1,239.84 kW); the Wal-Mart Super Center in Manati (854.44 kW); and the Wal-Mart Super Center in Caguas (895.44 kW).
